Evangelists Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker may throw in a bid for a 200-room Wisconsin lodge that could serve as headquarters for their new ministry. The Bakkers have requested information on the bankrupt Telemark Lodge near Cable, Wis., which goes on the block Sept. 15. Auctioneer Jim Bohon said an unnamed associate of the Bakkers, who were ousted as heads of the PTL ministry following a sex scandal, described the lodge as an ideal site for the couple to resurrect their ministry. The site includes a ski hill, an 18-hole golf course and a 3,000-seat coliseum, and has been appraised at more than $13 million.

The Unknown Marilyn

A series of photographs of Marilyn Monroe, taken in 1945 by an Army photographer under the command of Ronald Reagan, sold at auction yesterday in London for $23,130, said a spokesman for Christie's auction house.

The 25 photos, all but two of them color transparencies, were taken by David Conover after he was commissioned by his commanding officer -- Reagan -- to take promotional photographs of women involved in war work.

At the time, Monroe was an unknown Radiophone Corp. worker named Norma Jean Dougherty.

The buyers were identified as a group from Thunder Bay, Ontario, who bid by long-distance telephone during Christie's "pop" memorabilia sale.
