If Las Vegas oddsmaker Lenny Del Genio knows what he's talking about, the much-discussed movie "Broadcast News" is a cinch to lead the way in this year's Academy Award nominations when they are announced Feb. 17. Not only does he expect the film to receive a number of nominations, he thinks it will win awards in five of the six major categories.

Del Genio, who is manager of the Frontier Hotel race and sports book, says that at the April 11 Oscar ceremonies, "Broadcast News" is even money to be named best picture of the year. And he predicts the film's leading performers, William Hurt and Holly Hunter, will take the best actor and best actress honors, with Albert Brooks as best supporting actor and James Brooks as best director. For best supporting actress, he gives the nod to Anjelica Huston for her performance in "The Dead."

Roger Stevens, the man who sat down with President Kennedy to work out the building of a performing arts center on the banks of the Potomac, which was later named in the assassinated president's honor, will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom tonight from President Reagan. Stevens, who is retiring as chairman of the Kennedy Center, will be presented the nation's highest civilian award at a black-tie, celebrity-studded dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel hosted by the president and First Lady Nancy Reagan ...

Mr. Blackwell has released this year's list of the world's worst-dressed women, and Lisa Bonet, formerly of "The Cosby Show" and currently starring in her own series "A Different World," is right there at the top. The reason, Blackwell says, is that the young actress, who also appeared in the movie "Angel Heart," looks like "Dracula's idea of a good time." Hospital Report: Either Japanese Prime Minister Noboru Takeshita, who is on his first official visit to Washington, or a member of his party is expected to drop by Walter Reed Hospital to visit Mike Mansfield, who has been ambassador to Japan for a decade. The 84-year-old Mansfield, a former Senate majority leader, is recovering from heart bypass surgery there and is expected to remain in the hospital another two weeks ... Game show host Bob Barker is a man of his beliefs. After 21 years as master of ceremonies of the Miss Universe beauty pageant, he has resigned because the officials insist on giving away a fur coat on the show. Barker, an animal rights activist, said pageant officials had promised they would not give away a fur coat but have decided to present one to the winner of the March 1 pageant, which will be televised from El Paso ...
