Volunteers are needed at Jingle Bell Run to benefit the Arthritis Foundation, Sunday, Dec. 12 from 6 to 11 a.m. at Freedom Plaza, 13th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW (Metro: Metro Center, Federal Triangle). Fairfax Youth

Adult volunteers are needed to provide academic support and mentoring to high school students who have been suspended from school for a variety of reasons. Volunteers work two hours or more during each session, which can be weekly, biweekly or monthly, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. weekdays at Gum Springs Community Center, 8100 Fordson Rd. in the Mount Vernon area of Alexandria and at the Vienna Teen Center, 120 Cherry St. SE, Vienna.
