The mystery deepens this week as the brother-and-sister team of Shane, 13, and Portia, 11, try to find out how to help old Mr. Blair. Last week he received a package containing a clock. To read the mystery so far go to www.washingtonpost.com/kidspost and click on "Summer Book Club." This week more than 50 KidsPost readers entered.
"What do you need us to do?" asked Shane.
But before Mr. Blair could answer, the lights went out and the children heard a scream. When the lights came back on, Mr. Blair was gone. All that could be heard was the ticking of the clock.
