Shane and Portia just don't seem to know when it's time to go home! The creepy happenings at the Blair House continue. Last week, old Mr. Blair disappeared as the lights went out, leaving the brother-and-sister team with a weird ticking clock. To read the mystery so far, go to www.washingtonpost.com/kidspost and click on "Summer Book Club." This week, more than 70 readers entered.

Shane walked further inside the empty house. As he pulled Portia along with him, the old floorboards gave way. With a crash, they fell into the cellar.

"Shane? Are you okay? Shane?" Portia called out into the darkness. All that answered her was the ticking of the clock.

There are only three more weeks left to solve our KidsPost reader-written mystery. What has happened to Shane and Mr. Blair? What role does the clock play in the mystery? Is there a connection between Shane's mom and Mr. Blair? (Remember, she asked the kids to deliver the package to Mr. Blair.) We'll publish the sixth installment next Wednesday. What happens next is up to you!

Here are the rules: Your submission can be no more than 50 words. (Yes, "the" counts as a word!) We can edit your entry. The deadline is 9 a.m. Monday. You can enter by e-mailing kidspost@washpost.com (put "Mystery" in the subject line) or by faxing us at 202-496-3780. To be considered, an entry must include your name, age, address and phone number. If we publish your entry, we'll send you a KidsPost T-shirt.
