Rapper Lil' Kim (Kimberly Jones) has filed a $6 million lawsuit against a former recording partner who gave damaging testimony at her recent trial on perjury and conspiracy charges. She was subsequently convicted of lying to a grand jury and sentenced to a year and a day in prison. In the lawsuit, Jones claims that James "Lil' Cease" Lloyd is preparing to release a DVD titled "The Chronicles of the Junior M.A.F.I.A. Part II: Reloaded" using her name, image and likeness without permission. The DVD allegedly includes interviews with Lloyd and other members of the Junior M.A.F.I.A. explaining their involvement in the trial . . .

Testifying in a contract dispute, R&B singer Ashanti took the stand Monday in New York to deny accusations that she violated a deal with her first music producer after she became successful. The producer, Genard Parker, claims that he released the singer from her contract when she signed with a record label but with the understanding that he would produce two songs on her first album and receive a $50,000 advance plus royalties -- an agreement he says she reneged on . . .

R&B crooner D'Angelo, who hasn't been heard from much in the last few years (aside from his DUI arrest in January), will make a guest appearance on a forthcoming remix of rapper Common's single "Go," according to MTV.com . . .
