"American Idol" runner-up Bo Bice broke his foot during a concert Sunday night in Manchester, N.H., according to E!Online. Bice, who will reportedly perform in a cast for the tour's remaining 28 dates, blamed the injury on a change of footwear -- the singer had traded in his cowboy boots for tennis shoes, and apparently the added traction derailed his sliding dance moves . . .

A just-released British police report from 1969 characterized Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger as "an intelligent young man" who consorted with "the dregs of society." The report was declassified along with other police records dealing with Jagger's claim that detectives planted drugs on him during a raid on his London apartment in 1969. The singer was fined $500 for possession of cannabis after the raid . . .

Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand has ditched plans to self-title its second album (like its first), deciding instead to call the upcoming release "You Could Have It So Much Better . . . With Franz Ferdinand." The album is scheduled to hit stores Oct. 4 . . .

Mariah Carey and the Killers have signed on to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards, along with the previously announced Kanye West, Green Day and Kelly Clarkson. The show will air live from Miami on Aug. 28.
