Treats and a trick, one week early . . .

* The Chicago White Sox and Houston Astros in the World Series. See for yourself, tomorrow through (possibly) Sunday on Fox.

* Halloween happenings: ABC serves up another helping of the well-loved "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (Tuesday at 8 p.m.). "Ed, Edd and Eddy's Boo Haw Haw" (Friday at

7 p.m. on Cartoon Network) features the boys' offbeat look at trick-or-treating. NBC's Discovery Kids block has themed episodes of "Tutenstein" and "Time Warp Trio" (Saturday at 10:30 and 11 a.m. on WRC-Channel 4).

* ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (Sunday at 8 p.m.) makes its first stop in the D.C. area. In one week in August, a huge crew demolished an unsafe little house in Capitol Heights, Maryland, then built a stunning replacement while Veronica Ginyard and her eight children vacationed at Disney World.

* Don't rush out for Friday's opening of "The Legend of Zorro." Sure, you'll love the many fun fight scenes and the antics of 11-year-old actor Adrian Alonso (right), but better to wait until it comes out on DVD next year. That way you can skip the dull parts.
