These days it pays to be a senior citizen, at least a little bit. Every county, and finally the District, has a Senior Discount Program which issues directories of businesses that offer special prices - usually ten per cent off, but up to about fifty per cent off - for people over sixty who show their discount cards. The brand new District directory lists over 200 businesses and services, from adult education courses to car rentals to prescription drugs to antique furniture. Arlington has up to 400. The discount cards and directories are available free from the above locations.
