The beauty of art, or anything else for that matter, is said to be in the eye of the beholder. This week, however, the Local 1734 Art Collective will be giving those long-ignored tastebuds a chance to be the judges - of edible art, that is. Realizing that critiquing art is really a matter of taste, Local 1734 is encouraging creative spirits to enter completely edible artwork in its First Annual Edition that the art must not melt before the judging is complete. All interested palates are invited to a taste test fellowing the judging. Prizes will be awarded in many categories, including the National Gallery-Hirshhorn-Louvre Look-Alike, the best sculpture, the best original painting, the best-tasting-most-awful-looking, the best work submitted by a child and the Bromo-Seltzer Special. The judges will be sure to make their decisions with tongue in cheek.
