Whatever happened to Ruth Carter Stapleton? Is it true she is in the Bahamas with an elderly millionaire?

No. Stapleton spends half her time in North Carolina with her husband and the other half at Holavita, her Texas retreat where once a month she conducts weekend retreats that promote her concept of "inner healing." In March, an old family friend who lives in London, Doug Connor, took Stapleton, her two daughters and her mother, Miss Lillian, to Freeport, Bahamas, for a week-long trip. Stapleton says they stayed in separate homes and scoffs at reports of a romance with Connor. Actor Clint Eastwood is supposedly coming to Washington to help the White House hype a movie because he's friends with Ronald Reagan. Details, please.

Eastwood is starring in a new spy film, "Firefox," and Warner Communications is premiering the movie at the Kennedy Center next month as a benefit for the USO. Ursula Meese and Jane Weinberger, wives of Ronald Reagan's special assistant and secretary of defense, respectively, are co- chairman of the event. It doesn't hurt that last year, when the Screen Actor's Guild discussed booting out Ronald Reagan because his administration decertified the air controller's union, Clint Eastwood was vocal in his defense.
