Neon colors can brighten up the winter doldrums. And while designers peg the clothes arriving in stores at this moment for resort or cruise, many women--who never get to warmer climates in mid-winter--find buying at this season a way to get a head start on freshening up their warm-weather wardrobe.

Bright crayon colors used in big geometric shapes or bold splashes of color look freshest on a white background. While many designers pair these neon-bright prints with tops and bottoms in matching patterns, it is sometimes a relief to alternate them with solid whites.
