The Dixon family obviously believes in making music a family affair. Sherrie and Roy Jr., sister and brother of "Bosom Buddies" star Donna Dixon, sing in the Dixon Line Band, which will be appearing at the Burtonsville (Md.) Lion's Club country music jamboree this afternoon. The benefit concert stars Charley Pride, Terri Gibbs, Ronnie McDowell, Janie Fricke and four local bands.

Sherrie and Roy Dixon appear frequently at their father's nightclub, Hillbilly Heaven in Lorton, Va. Donna sang there as well for several years before finding fame in front of the camera. Sherrie, 18, a recent graduate of Hayfield High, may be the next in line. Her room is already cluttered with beauty pageant trophies, including this year's Miss U.S.A. Glamor Girl, Miss United States Teenager, Miss Sugar and Spice, Miss Teen Cherry Blossom and, just recently, Miss Virginia Hemisphere. Next month, she's off to Philadelphia for the Miss United States Hemipshere showdown.

Donna was also a beauty contest winner, and Sherrie, who has been performing for the last two years, says, "I've kind of followed in her footsteps. But I'm a little bit further along than she was at my age. I've been dancing since I was 4, but I've been in the entertainment field all my life. I always watched my brother and sister; Roy started at 14 he's now 28 . We do mostly country music and Top 40. My father brought us up in it because he was an entertainer when he was younger . . .

"I just want to be successful in the entertainment field wherever that leads--acting, singing, dancing. I love to do all of that."

Sherrie's scheduled to make an appearance on "Bosom Buddies" this fall--if the series is picked up again by the network.

The Jamboree runs from noon to 7:30 p.m.; for information, call (301) 384-3942.
