As if the super circus spectacular weren't enough for one city summer, Milwaukee has another high-energy event, the Summerfest music festival, June 25 to July 5.

For the price of a $6 general admission ticket to Henry W. Maier Festival Park on the lakefront (children under 12 accompanied by an adult are admitted free, after 6 p.m. for 50 cents), you can enjoy continuous music from 11:30 a.m. to midnight performed on 10 stages, including the new 23,000-seat Marcus Amphitheater.

This year's big-name lineup for the amphitheater includes: the Beach Boys (June 25), Bruce Hornsby (June 26), the Bangles (June 27), Dolly Parton (June 28), Paul Simon (June 29), Run DMC (June 30), Duran Duran (July 1), Jimmy Buffett (July 2), Chicago (July 3), the Milwaukee Symphony (July 4) and Whitney Houston (July 5).

A series of smaller ethnic celebrations gets off to a splashy start on June 20 with the City of Festivals Parade involving 6,000 marchers, floats, European bands and ethnic dancers. The festivals run through Aug. 30. INFORMATION: For more information, contact: The Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau, 756 N. Milwaukee St., Milwaukee, Wis. 53202, (414) 273-3950.
