This chart shows low round-trip fares from the Washington area to popular destinations. It is designed to illustrate low fares; they sell out quickly and are not guaranteed to be available. Do not call The Washington Post about these fares; call the airlines indicated by the letter codes, or a travel agent, to book a flight.

Please also note the following. The fares we publish are:

1. for non-stop or direct flights, except for markets served only by connecting flights (flights with connections are often cheaper);

2. for flights departing from at least one area airport -- Baltimore/Washington International, Reagan National and Dulles International -- but not necessarily all three;

3. for seats that often carry restrictions, such as Saturday night stays, significant advance purchase requirements and midweek departures; and

4. for departures the week of Dec. 12-18.

Requesting other conditions, including a specific departure airport, or a certain time or date, may result in a higher price quote.

Though we verified with the airlines that seats with these fares were available on Thursday afternoon when the Travel section went to press, they may not be available when you call the airlines.

Airlines constantly update fares and adjust the number of seats available at a given fare. Certain airport taxes and surcharges are not included in the price quotes.
