Now available on home video: Those smashing rock 'n' roll hits of yesteryear, sung by the stars of that era and produced to bring the viewer/listener the concert-hall sound that today's technology makes possible.

The Paul Robi Platters, Johnny Maestro and The Brooklyn Bridge, The Drifters, Vito and The Salutations, Larry Chance and The Earls, Del Vikings ("Sweet Lou"), Starlight and Shirley Alston Reeves, original lead singer of the Shirelles, are among performers for this concert in New York's Town Hall staged specifically for this video, "The Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Hits of the '50s and '60s."

The two gala shows, nine hours of taping, drew standing-room-only crowds that danced in the aisles.

Producer and distributor Bernard Gurtman of GMZ Productions, Inc., is enthusiastic about this venture. He has had a number of other top sellers, including the Victor Borge video, Canadian Brass and several classical music cassettes in the "World's Greatest Music" series.

"We're going through a rock 'n' roll revival in this country," contends Gurtman. "It's being used in commercials and for the sound track of a number of today's popular movies. Unfortunately, most of the product on video that is currently available to this audience is of a rip-off nature ... old TV shows and movies, mostly black and white and very poor in sound quality. The GMZ tapes are on 3M stereo backed video tape and have been run through the Dolby SR process. And they were sung, where possible, by the artists who were responsible for making the originals."

Gurtman has crafted two tapes for this package of all million-sellers. The first is a one-hour version with 16 songs for $19.95. The second has 32 for $29.95. They can be ordered from GMZ Productions, Inc., 162 W. 56th St., New York, N.Y. 10019. Or: 1-800-66MUSIC.
