Four original movies by four different basic cable networks come up with their world premieres this week:
TNT presents "Forgotten Prisioners: The Amnesty Files," Monday at 8 p.m.
USA presents "Running Against Time," Wednesday at 9 p.m.
The Family Channel presents "Clarence," Thursday at 8 p.m.
Lifetime presents "Storm and Sorrow," Thursday at 9 p.m.
Ron Silver and Hector Elizondo star in a tense Amnesty International battle waged in behalf of 17 prisoners of conscience in Turkey. Roger Daltrey makes a cameo appearance in "Forgotten Prisioners: The Amnesty Files," an interesting insight of the time-tested, non violent strategies of Amnesty International. Robert Hays stars as a college professor who seizes the opportunity to travel back in time to save John F. Kennedy from assassination, but arrives late and is arrested for murder in "Running Against Time," co-starring Catherine Hicks and Sam Wanameker. Encores: Nov. 25, 7 p.m. and Dec. 1, noon.
Robert Carradine stars as "Clarence," an angel based on the one in Frank Capra's "It's A Wonderful Life" attempting to save the life of a young women. The movie co-stars Kate Trotter, Nicholas Van Burek, Jamie Rainey and Richard Fitzpatrick. Encore: Saturday 8 p.m., Dec 10 and 13 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 16, 4 p.m.
Lori Singer stars in "Storm and Sorrow," the story of Molly Higgins and her life-and-death struggle in 1974 to climb Peak Lenin in the U.S.S.R. Hungarian star Agnes Banfalvy stars as the leader of the Russian team. Encores: Saturday, 8 p.m., Nov. 27, 9 p.m., Nov. 30, 9 p.m. and Dec. 3, 9 p.m.
Tuesday on HBO at 8 p.m. "Bobby Kennedy: In His Own Words" paints a potrait of this political hero including some never-befeore-seen home movies and never-before-heard audio tapes.
Wednesday on The Nashville Network at 8 p.m. "Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters" (Louise and Irlene) celebrate Thanksgiving in a one-hour special with The Statler Brothers and the U.S. Air Force Cadet Chorale as guests. Repeats at 11 p.m.
Friday on Bravo at 10 p.m. Brazilian singer Milton Nascimento brings on saxophonist Wayne Shorter as his special guest for the one-hour special taped at the 1990 Montreal Jazz Festival.
Saturday on HBO at 8 p.m. "Julio Iglesias in Concert: Starry Night," featuring the "International Ambassador of Music" performing many of his top hits as well as standards from his new album. Taped at Los Angeles' Greek Theater.
Saturday on Bravo at 8 p.m. "Hotel Terminus: The Life and Times of Klaus Barbie," for the first time on American television. Director Marcel Ophuls' 4 1/2-hour movie depicting the atrocities committed against mankind by one man won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1988.
Schedule Change on ESPN: "Earthwinds," the first around-the-world manned balloon flight planned for this month, has been rescheduled for November 1991 to apply new technical information gathered from September's flight test.
