A 50th anniversary video edition of "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" is among the choice releases of children's tapes for the out-of-school season.

The 68-minute classic, Disney's 11th animated full-length feature, consists of a pair of beloved children's tales, "The Wind in the Willows," narrated by Basil Rathbone, and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," with narration and song by Bing Crosby. The video lists for $22.99.

Disney also has recently released "The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue," the third and final adventure of Toaster and pals (74 mins., $22.99).

Paramount's "Little Bear: Summertime Tales" offers four stories of friendship and adventure from the Nickelodeon series (34 mins., $9.95).

On June 22, another Nick Jr. series hits the shelves, "Blue's Big Treasure Hunt," featuring Rue McClanahan and Gregory Hines (50 mins., $9.95).

"Pat the Bunny Sing With Me" was released recently by Golden Books Home Entertainment, featuring 10 original songs. The video is based on a 1940 book by Dorothy Kunhardt, which has sold more than 6 million copies (30 mins., $9.98).

Three new "Berenstain Bears" tapes surfaced last week. Each volume contains three episodes of the 37-year-old series. The tapes are titled simply Volume 4, 5 and 6 (36 mins., $9.95).

"Batman Beyond: The Movie" (48 mins.), an action-packed animated adventure film based on the Warner Bros. television series, came out late last month and is included with four other titles ("Batman: Mask of Phantasm," "Batman and Mr. Freeze: Subzero," "The Batman/Superman Movie" and "Superman: The Last Son of Krypton"). Each is priced at $14.95.

The seventh and eighth volumes of Jim Henson's "Bear in the Big Blue House" are expected from Columbia TriStar on June 22. Each contains two 50-minute shows for preschoolers. On the same day, Columbia TriStar releases the fifth and sixth volumes of "The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss," with two stories on each tape (48 mins.).

From George Belcher Productions (888-306-7925) comes "Mining for Gold," a tour of Nevada's Barrick Goldstrike Mine -- third largest in the world -- and its 685,000-pound trucks and six-story-tall shovels (30 mins., $18.95).

A series of 12 "Critter Gitters" videos teaches respect for animals, solves cases of neglect and animal brutality and shows all sorts of rescue missions around the world. The tapes are available from Critter Gitters Inc. (approximately 30 mins., $19.95, 1-800-383-8811).

Warner Home Video and Morgan Creek Productions are readying a July 6 release of an animated version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical "The King and I." The 89-minute video, priced at $22.95, includes all the hit tunes, such as "Shall We Dance," "Getting to Know You" and "I Whistle a Happy Tune," from one of the century's great love stories.
