Despite the many medical conditions and health risks that can complicate things for expectant mothers, the

National Coalition Against Domestic Violence suggests their deaths are most often the result of foul play.

This hour-long special takes a look at the stories of four pregnant women killed by their lovers, examines the laws that protect unborn children, and offers warning signs women should heed.


Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Cinemax

John Cadigan went from being voted the most popular, athletic and artistic student in grade school to being a college student who was afraid to attend class.

After several diagnoses, it was determined that Cadigan was a victim of paranoid schizophrenia. His battle with the disease is the basis of this 90-minute autobiographical documentary, which is the first to be filmed and directed by someone living with the disease. It chronicles the intimate details of Cadigan's 10-year battle to recover from schizophrenia.

Academy Award-winning documentarian Ira Wohl and Cadigan's sister Katie Cadigan helped make the film.


Wednesday at 9 p.m. on VH1

Many famous musicians have written and performed songs about war and the hardships young Americans endure while defending the nation.

However, filmmaker George Gittoes's documentary takes a look at the not-so-well-known musicians -- the soldiers who experience the war -- as they turn to music for consolation and expression during their service.

The one-hour special, which includes some of the footage featured in Michael Moore's controversial "Fahrenheit 9/11," offers testimonies from American troops.


Saturday at 8 p.m. on Disney

This new half-hour animated series borrows a familiar premise -- being stranded in a foreign and exotic location -- and throws a bunny and a dog in the mix.

Brandy, the snobbish dog, and Mr. Whiskers, the happy-go-lucky bunny, fall from the cargo hold of a plane and land in an Amazon rain forest. There they meet the region's native creatures: a boa, an otter, twin toucans, a gecko with an army of monkeys and a stick bug.

The show premieres with four back-to-back episodes.

Kaley Cuoco ("8 Simple Rules") voices Brandy.


Saturday at 9 p.m. on Sci Fi

A team of special agents heads to a mysterious island in the South China Sea in search of a terrorist and a kidnapped scientist.

What they find is a population of vicious, prehistoric raptors whose appetite for humans has not waned since the prehistoric age.

Lorenzo Lamas and Steven Bauer co-star in the two-hour adventure movie.
