After more than 10 years behind bars for drug trafficking, Leifel Jackson is ready to walk the straight and narrow, but the former gang member -- who now runs a city-funded after-school program -- finds it is not easy to start anew.

Although his parole prohibits him from associating with gang members, Jackson maintains his ties to the streets in hopes of saving those who are living the type of violent life he's put behind him. He and former gang rival Marvin Weathersby work together to save the next generation by sharing stories of drive-by shootings and disputes that led to gunshot wounds.

Filmmakers Marc Levin and Daphne Pinkerson first introduced the world to Jackson in their 1994 documentary "Gang War: Bangin' in Little Rock." The duo returned to the town for this one-hour update -- part of HBO's "American Undercover" series -- about Jackson and his efforts to make a positive difference in his community.
