The second season of "Scrubs," which comes out on DVD on Tuesday, is packaged in a rather plain white box with the show's principal characters embossed on the front in a manner that is, well, kind of creepy.

But even if this presentation is a far cry from the eye popping metallic and bright blue first-season display, Buena Vista doesn't have anything to worry about: Anyone who bought the first season is going to be coming for this one.

The first season of "Scrubs" was one of the most surprising and consistently funny shows in 2001, and was given an exceptional DVD treatment earlier this year. And the second season doesn't skip a beat.

"Season 2" sees the return of the full cast -- including Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley -- and the chemistry that made the show's initial run so watchable is still there.

DVD extras include commentary on selected episodes, including "My Overkill," "My First Step" and "My T.C.W.," deleted scenes, outtakes and a number of behind-the-scenes featurettes.

As TV shows continue to be produced with eventual DVD releases in mind, it is likely we will continue to see sets with just as many quality features as this. What is rare, though, is to have such extensive extras connected to a show as good as this.
