The National Weather Forecast for Today - Snow will fall from New England south through the central Appalachians, across the Great Lakes and the Ohio and the mid-Mississippi Valleys. Snow flurries will stretch across the central Plains, Wyoming and both northern portions of the Rockies and the intermountain region. Rain, with snow over the mountains, will dampen Washington state. Sunny skies will dominate the central Rockies and the southwest. It will be quite cold over the northern Plains and very cold elsewhere east of the Rockies except in the southern Plains, Flordia and Texas. Mild temperatures will prevail from the Pacific Coast across the intermountain region. The rest of the nation will be seasonably cold.
