Lower Potomac and Chesapeake Bay: Today - Chance of rain early this morning, becoming partly cloudy through remainder of day with visibility of 5 miles or more and northerly winds of 10 to 20 knots through tonight.

Extended Area Outlook: For Wednesday through Friday - Fair Wednesday with chance of precipitation Thursday and Friday. Highs should average in 50s to low 60s, lows in upper 30s and 40s. Washington's normal temperature range for this time of year is from 53 to 33.

West Virginia: Today - Partly cloudy, high in 40s to low 50s, low in 20s. There is a chance of snow flurries in north this morning. Tuesday - Sunny, highs in mid 40s to mid 50s.

The National Weather Forecast for Today - Some rain will fall in the middle Atlantic states and central Appalachians and also over South Carolina and central Florida. Snow flurries will be scattered over extreme northern New England. Showers will spread over the northern half of the Pacific Coast into the northern plateau region. Most other areas of the nation will have sunny skies. Temperatures will be cooler in the northern and middle Atlantic Coast states, Florida and along the central Pacific Coast. Warmer readings will reach from Arizona across the northern and central Rockies into the Plains and upper Mississippi Valley.

The Council of Governments' Air Quality Index for yesterday showed the high reading in the Washington area during the 9 to 10 a.m. period was 13 for the pollutant, photochemical oxidants Index values between 0 and 24 indicate good air quality. When the index exceeds 100 the air becomes hazardous and persons with lung, heart and eye problems should restrict their activity. The forecast for today indicates the air quality will remain about the same.

The National Weather Service forcasts that the Potomac River stage at Little Falls will rise to 5.7 feet this morning.
