Maryland and Virginia: Today - Warm and sunny, high in the 70s, low in the 40s. Friday - Variable cloudiness with a chance of showers, high in the 60s.

Lower Potomac and Chesapeake Bay: Today - Fair with southwesterly winds about 10 knots, increasing to 15 to 20 knots by nightfall. Visibility will be 5 miles or more.

West Virginia: Today - Increasing cloudiness, highs from the upper 60s to low 70s. Showers expected by nightfall. Friday - highs from the mid 40s to low 70s.

Extended Area Forecast for Saturday through Monday - Considerable cloudiness with showers expected at times throughout the period. Highs will average from the mid 60s to mid 70s and lows in the 50s. Friday will be cooler, high in the 60s, low in the 40s. Normal Washington temperatures for the period are a high of 54 and a low of 34.

The National Weather Forecast for Today - Showers and thundershowers are expected from the eastern parts of Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas into the Mississippi Valley, the southwest section of the Great Lakes, the western Ohio Valley; Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. Mixed rain and snow will be scattered from the northern and central Rockies into northern Arl-zone. Skies will also be cloudy across the central Plains and in western Washington. Colder temperatures will spread from the central and southern Plataeu across the Rockies and Plains into the upper Mississippi Valley and western Great Lakes. Mild temperatures will prevail in the East, and it will be seasonably cool in the West.
