The National Weather Forecast for Today - Rain will be widespread across New England and along the northern Pacific Coast. Widely scattered rain or snow showers will fall from the northwest portion of the plains across Wyoming and into the central plateau. Elsewhere - Fair or partly cloudy skies are forecast. It will be warmer across the upper and middle Mississippi Valley and the eastern portions of the north and central Plains. Colder weather will move into the northern and central Rockies - and most of the plateau. Elsewhere - little temperature change is forecast.
