Age 74, Route 3, Box 110, Waynesboro, Va., died Sunday at The Waynesboro Community Hospital. Mr. Dean was born July 12, 1902, in Oxon Hill, Md., son of the late James M. and Bessie Bivens Dean. Mr. Dean was a member and honory deacon of the Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church in Waynesboro. Mr Dean is survived by his wife Sadie D. Dean; six sons, Edward M. Dean, of Oxon Hill, Md., James E. Dean, Jr., of Camp Springs., Md., Robert L. Dean, of Temple Hills, Md., Kenneth M. Dean of Chattenooga, Tenn., Paul C. Dean, of Lyndhurst, Va., and David L. Dean of Columbus, Ga.; two daughters Mrs. Mary A. Sasscer of Hillcrest Heights, Md., and Mrs. Dorthy M. Blankley, of Annandale, Va.; two sisters Mrs. Grace Walters, of Sunderland, Md., Mrs. Adaline Havenner of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; 29 grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at THE McDOW FUNERAL HOME, 1701 West Main St., Waynesboro, Va., conducted by the Rev. B. C. Akers. The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at The Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, Md., conducted by the Rev. Kenneth M. Dean. Memorials may be made to The American Heart Fund.
