West Virginia: Today - Sunny, high mid 50s to mid 60s, lows in mid 30s to mid 40s. Wednesday - Sunny, highs near 70.

The Natural Weather Forecast for Today - Showers will be scattered over north through eastern New England and thunderstorms will continue over southern Florida. Showers will be scattered from the southern Plains over the central and northern Rockies and across the Great Basin into the southern plateau. Temperatures will be warm over North DakotaIt will be mild from the half of the Mississippi Valley through the northern half of the Rockies. It will also be seasonably mid along the Gulf of Mexico Coast. Elsewhere, temperatures will be generally cool.

The Council of Governments' Air Quantity [WORD ILLEGIBLE] for yesterday showed the high risingin the Washington area duringthe 2 to 3 p.m. period was 24 for the pollutant, photochemical oxidants. Index values between 0 and 24 indicate good air qaulity. When the index exceeds 100 the air becomse hazardous and persons with lung, heart and eye problems should restrict their activity. The forecast for today indicates the air quality will remain about the same.

The National Weather Service forecasts that the Potomac River stage at Little Falls will remain near 3.6 feet through today.
