The Capitol Plaza office of the National Savings and Trust Co, at 1 Indiana Ave. NW was held up about 10:15 a.m. yesterday by four men, at least one of whom was armed, who fled with an undetermined sum, D.C. police reported.

The same branch was held up May 11, and a man who was sought on a warrant in connection with that robbery turned himself in to police on Thursday.

In yesterday's holdup, tellers said that one robber stood in the lobby with a gun while the three others jumped the counter. On teller said that the man in the lobby also rapped on her window and demanded and received money before all four fled.

In a second bank robbery yesterday, a man with a black revolver demanded money from teller Bessie Smith about 10:35 a.m. at the Riggs National Bank office at 833 7th St. NW.

When she began placing money from a cash drawer on the counter, the man told her he didn't want the ones and expressed a preference for larger denominations, police said.

After ordering the teller to lie on the floor, the man fled with an undeterminded sum, police said.
