Beverly Welborn Justement, 44, director of the Head Start day-care center at West Rockville Elementary School, died of a cerebral haemorrhage Thursday at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda.
She had been with the center, which comes under the Montgomery County public school system, for 10 years.
Last year, Mrs. Justement was cited by the office of child development at the Department of Health, Education and Welfare for her contributions to the Head Start program.
Born in Washington, Mrs. Justement grew up in Arlington. She received a degree in art education from a Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
She had worked with the Arlingotn Recreational Department during her college years and after graduation. Later she worked for five years as an artist designer in the heraldic office of the Department of the Army.
Mrs. Justement was the widow of Louis Justment Jr., an architect, who died in 1966.
She is survived by two sons, Louis Barth and Jesse Shawn, of the home in Potomac; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse York Welborn, of Arlington, and a brother, Jesse Welborn Jr., of Grand Blanc, Mich.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy may be in the form of contributions to the Arlington unit of the American Cancer Society.
