Marie Gay Langford, 39, and her son, John A. Langford III, of Oxon Hill, were killed Aug. 17 in Newman, Ga., in an automobile-tractor trailer crash.

They were en route, with other family members, to Mobile, Ala., to visit relatives when the accident occured. Both were passengers in the car.

Mrs. Langford was the wife of Air Force Col. John A. Langford Jr., presently on duty in Korea. The family had moved to Oxon Hill from Phoenix, Ariz, about three years ago.

John would have entered the ninth grade at Lord Baltimore Junior High School in Oxon Hill this fall.

Both Mrs. Langford and John were born in Mobile.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three other children, Kyle, Mitchell and Heather, all of the home; two brothers, Gary Gay, of Laurel, and Daniel J. Gay, of Monile, and her grandfather, E.T. Williams, of Mobile.

In addition to his father and brothers and sisters, John is survived by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. langford Sr., of Dallas, Tex.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy may be in the form of contributions to the Clinton Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Camp Springs.
