A 28-year-old Hollywood, Md., man convicted last month of raping a Southwest Washington woman and then, murdering her by running over her twice with his car, was sentenced yesterday to two consecutive life imprisonment terms by a Prince George'se Circuit Court judge.

Judge James Couch, in sentencing John B. Sydnor, called the crime "as heinous as I've ever heard," Sydnor was convicted of raping and murdering Kathleen Sebastian, 24, of 2714 39th St., whose partly clad, badly bruised body was found last Nov. 6 in the parking lot of the Evangel Assembly of God Church on Old Branch Avenue in Camp Springs.

Assistant State's Attorney Leonard Casalino has asked for a maximum penalty for Sydnor whom he sais "showed no remorse" for the crime.

Sydnor had to be tried a second time in connection with the murder after his first in April ended in a mistrial when a juror informed the judge during deliberations that he was having "a nervous breakdown."

After his arrest last Decemebr, Sydnor confessed to police, stating that he killed the woman, whom he had met the evening, of the murder at Gus and John's restaurant in Camp Springs, because she threatened to charge him with rape.
