Following is a list of day care centers that for various reasons were ommitted from last week's guide. They are open full days, year round. Information was provided by the centers.
Bea's Learning Center, 2101 3rd St. NE; 832-3229. Director, Marie B. Thompson. A proprietary center open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; $25 per week, one child; $40 per week, two children. Serves breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks. Transportation available at a charge of $5 per week. Accepts 2 through 6 year olds. Children must be toilet trained.
Key Day Care Center, 733 Euclid St. NW; 265-4923. Director, Phenoris Copes. A non-profit center open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. All children subsidized by DHR. Breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks served. No transportation provided. Accepts children aged 2 through 6. Children should be toilet trained.
Owl Schools, operates three centers in the District, all directed by Randa Meredith and Margaret Harris; 462-4034. Fee is $35 per week and hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at each center. Two centers have social service contracts. Center at Connecticut and Cathedral Avenue NW accepts children 2 through 6 and has an after-school program serving elementary school students through third grade; serves lunch and 2 snacks. Center at 5 Thomas Circle NW accepts children 2 through 5; serves lunch and 2 snacks. Center at 1608 New Hampshire Avenue NW includes an elementary school, accepts children 5 through 9, and serves 2 snacks.
Paganar Pre-school Academy, 4527 Georgia Avenue NW; 723-6110. Director, Wilma Lindsay. A proprietary center open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; $125 per month for children aged 2 through 4; offers kindergarten for 5-year-olds for $150 per month. Serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. Transportation is available for $42.50 per month for roundtrips and $25 for one-way. Children should be toilet trained.
