Extended Area Forecast for Friday through Sunday - Fair through the period. Highs will be from the upper 70s on Friday to the mid 50s on Saturday, and Sunday. Lows will range from the mid 50s by Friday to the mid 61s by Saturday. Normal Washington temperatures by the period are a high of 80 and a low of 61.

The National Weather Forecast for today - Rain and thundershowers are often in New England and the middle Atlantic states through the Omit Valley and middle Mississippi Valley. From the southeast into eastern portions of the southern Plains there is a chance of rain. Skies will be mostly sunny for the remainder of the country. Temperatures will be warm from the middle Atlantic states to Florida and along the Gulf Coast to Texas. Mild readings will prevail elsewhere.
