D.C. police have arrested two other suspects in the recent outbreak of robberies and shootings of taxicab drivers east of the Anacostia River.

William T. Lawson, 21, of 5824 Southern Ave. SE, was arrested yesterday and charged with armed robbery in the holdup Sunday of Eugene R. Logan 43, Logan was robbed of $20 by two men who rode from Northwest Washington to Anacostia in his Capitol cab.

Logan was shot in the head and his assailants drove off in his cab, police reported.

Marion Bittle, 24, of 3178 Robinson PI. SE. was arrested Wednesday and charged with armed robbery in the same incident, police said. Bittle was arraigned before a D.C. Superior Court judge yesterday and released on his own recognizance. Lawson was being held on $25,000 bond pending arraignment today.

Two 16 year-old youths also were arrested Wednesday in connection with the Sept. 14 shooting of william Jones, 37, a Capitol cab driver, who was shot by one of four youths who walked up to his cab in the 2700 block of Stanton Road SE.

Police said they are still looking for a third 16-year-old who is believed to be the gunman in the Jones case.

There have been nine robberies of cab drivers this month. One driver had been killed, three wounded and the other five victims have been threatened with knives, guns or other weapons.
