A 21-year-old woman walking to a bus stop was killed Wednesdya afternoon when a Volkswagen bus flipped over on top of her at the intersection of Rte. 214 and Brightseat Road in Prince George's County, Marylna dstate police reported yesterday.

Ana Christina Gomzalex of 1803 Biltmore St. NW was on her way home after attending a chemistry class at Prince George's Community College when the accident occurred shortly before 3 p.m., according to a companion, Linda Cassola, 19.

Miss Gonzalez, a native of Guatemala who came to the U.S. eight years ago, was studying to be a laboratory technician, according to Miss Cassola.

Police said a car driven by a 17-year-old juvenile hit the Volkswagen bus in the right rear while turning on to Rte. 214.

The bus then skidded and overturned on a traffic island where Miss Gonzalez was standing with her friend, according to police.

Miss Cassola was treated for lacerations of the right arm and leg at Prince George's General Hospital and released, police said, while David William Knight, 25, of Ritchie, Md., driver of the bus, refused treatment for a laceration.

The driver of the car was charged with failing to yield the right way and driving with an expired learner's permit.
