Elsie B. Wise, 87, a former D.C. police department employee, died Wednesday at the Washington Adventist Hospital of complications following surgery.

Born in Calvert County. Md. she had lived with her husband. the late John Frank Wise, in Canada, from 1915 to about 1930, when the family returned to this area. Mr. Wise, a yardmaster with the Washington Terminal Co. died in 1932.

During World War II. Mrs. Wise worked as a clerk with the Federal Housing Administration. She then was a clerk with the Washington police department from 1945 until the late 1950s as a clerk in charge of time and attendance records.

Mrs. Wise was a member of Millian Memorial United Methodist Church in Rockville and its Senior Millianaires. She also belonged to the Rockville and Wheaton senior citizens asociations and was a 25-year member of Ruth Chapter No. 1 of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a daughter. Jeanette Sieling with whom she lived in Rockvilley a son. John F. Wise. of Hyattsville six grandchildren. and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy may be in the form of contributions to the Elsie B Wise Memorial Fund at Millian Memorial Church.
