Extended Area Forecast for Monday through Wednesady - Rain likely early in the period, followed by cloudy to partly cloudy skies. Highs will average in the 60s, lows in the upper 40s and 50s. Normal Washington temperatures for the period are a high of 61 and a low of 41.

Lower Potomac and Chesapeake Bay - Cloudy with a chance of showers. Winds will become north easterly at 10 to 20 knots by nightfall. Visibility will be less than 1 mile. Waves will be 2 feet or less.

The national weather forecast for today. Showers and thunder storms are forecast for the southern Atlantic Coast states, and the Tanessee and Ohio Valleys to the Middle Atlantic Coastal region.
