James M. Head, identified by police as a 'friend' of two men found murdered execution style late Sunday and early Monday, was arrested and charged with homicide in the two deaths by D.C. police yesterday.
Head, 31, of 1509 16th St. NW works in a far northeast barbershop near the Amoco Service station where the two victims had worked, police said. Homicide detectives also said Head is wanted by Maryland for armed abduction.
Head was charged with the murders of Edward Williams, 25, of 4482 Douglas St. NE and Angelo Rowe, 24, of 4263 Nash St. NE, yesterday afternoon. He is being held without bond in the D.C. central cell block pending arraignment today.
Williams was found shot through the head in a wooded area of Fort DuPont Park in southeast Washington at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Rowe, also shot in the head, was found in an alley in the 400 block of 50th Street NE by a passerby at 7:40 a.m. Monday.
Police said they believe the murders followed an attempted robbery at Morton's Amoco Station at 1535 Kenilworth Ave. NE. They said the only money taken was what Williams and Rowe were carrying.
