Cynthia Jarvis, Associate Minister of Westminster Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1978. She was born July 29, 1911 in Mansfield, Ohio to Ralph H. & Edith Crane Arnold. Graduated from the College of Wooster, '33, Master's degree in 1935 from the Western Reserve University, School in Applied Social Work, Cleveland. Member of the Truro Episcopal Church, since 1973. Surviving are husband, Halsey Wilbur; daughter, Betsey Wilbur of Mansfield; son, Peter, of the home. Spending her youth in Wilkinsburg, Penna., she worked in Brashear Settlement House in Cleveland & Kinglsey Settlement House in Pittsburgh. She also served on the faculty of Applied Social Sciences Department of the University of Pittsburgh. In 1944-1945, while on the National Board of the Y.W.C.A, she traveled, establishing new programs for girls in U.S.A. With her husband, whom she married in 1942, she lived in Hong Kong, Fairfax, Va., Israel, Iran & Laos.Her husband was an officer of the Agency for International Development. Mrs. Wilbur taught in American schools in Iran & Laos; in Laos she was the president of the American Women's Club, which engaged in cultural & fun-raising activities for local charities.
