West Virginia: Today - Partly cloudy with snow developing tonight and continuing into Sunday, night and continuing into Sunday, highs from me mid 20s to mid 30s, lows from 5 below in the northern mountains to 15 above. Highs Sunday will be in the 20s.

Lower Patomac and Chesapeake Bay - Fair through tonight with visibility better than 5 miles. Winds will become easterly at 5 to 15 knots. Wave action is restricted our to considerable coverage on the bay.

The National Weather Forecast for today - Rain will fall from northern California through Washington State and into portions of Nevada and Idaho, with snow oxely in the mountains and over northern Ioaho and much of Monana. Snow is also possible in parts of the Dakotas, the upper Mississiooi Valley, most of the Great Lakes and arts of the Ohio Valley. There is a chance of rain in extrene southern Florida. Mild termpeatures are in store over most of the area from the Plateau Region across the Rockies into the southern and central Plans, and through the Pacific Northeast. The Council of Governments' Air Quality Index for yesterday showed the high reacting in the Washington area during the 3 p.m. period was 31 for the pollutant photochemical oxidants. Index values between (25 and 49) indicate fair air quality. When the index exceeds 100 the air is considered very unhealthy and individuals with lung, heart and eye ailments are urged to restrict their activity. The forecast for today indicates that the air quality will improve.

The National Weather Service forecasts the Potomac River stage at Little Falls should fall to 4.3 feet today.
