West Virginia: Today - Snow flurries, highs from the teens to the mid 20s, lows from near zero to the teens. Wednesday - Partly cloudy, highs from the teens to the mid 20s.

The National Weather Forecast for today - Snow will linger over the lower Great Lakes, the northern Appalachians and New England. There will be rain along the western western Gulf Coast . . . and some snow in the central Plains. Showers will spread over northern and central portions of the Pacific Coast and Plateau. Most other parts of the Rocky mountain region and Great Plains will also be cloudy. It will continue cold over the nation east of the Rockies, but near or above normal readings will prevail from the Rockies to the Pacific Coast. It will be mild in the northern Rockies.

The Council of Governments' Air Quality Index for yesterday showed high reading in the Washington area during the 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. period was 20 for the pollutant, photochemical oxidants. Index values between zero, and 24 indicate good air quality.When the index exceeds 100 the air is considered very unhealthy, and individuals with lung, heart and eye ailments are urged to restrict their activity.
