The Nation Yesterday: Snow scattered through the Northeast. Snow flurries also continued over portions of the northern half of the Mississippi Valley into eastern portions of the Plains. The snow in the northern half of the Rockies changed to scattered rain over the northern half of the Plateau, with rain scattered across the Pacific Coast. Afternoon and evening skies were partly cloudy over much of the southern portion of the nation, from the southeast into the interior portion of the Southwest.
