Extended Area Forecast for Wednesday through Friday - Partly cloudy and mild with little chance of rain. Highs will average in the 60s to near 70, low in the 40s. Noraml Washington temperatures for the period are a high of 58 and a low of 37.

West Virginia: Today - Sunny, highs will range from the mid 50s to mid 60s, lows from the mid 30s to mid 40s.Tuesday - increasing cloudiness with scattered showers, highs from the mid 50s to mid 60s.

The National Weather Forecast for Today - Isolated showers are possible in Oregon, California, parts of Montana and North Carolina. Isolated snow showers are possible near the Great Lakes. Skies will be mostly sunny over portions of the central and southern Plains and eastward to the Atlantic. Temperatures will be cool to cold in central and most of southern California, the Great Basin, the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley regions, most of Florida and from the Carolinas through New England. Much of the remainder of the country can expect mild conditions.

The Council of Governments' Air Quality Index for yesterday showed the high reading in th Washingto area during the 10 a.m. period was 37 for the pollutant, photochemical oxidants. Index values between 25 ane 49 indicate fair air quality. When the index exceeds 100 the air is considered very unhealthy and individuals with lung, heart and eye ailments are urged to restrict their activity. The forecast for today indicates that the air quality will remain fair.

The National Weather Service forecasts the Potomac River stage at Little Falls should decrease to near 6.0 feet today. Levels above 5 feet are considered hazardous for recreational activities.
