The following actions were taken by the D.C. Zoning Commission at its March 9 public meeting.

Gave final approval of a text amendment to repeal those portions of the zoning regulations which authorize the zoning commission, sua sponte (of its own will), to stay orders of the Board of Zoning Adjustment and to rule upon the matters disposed of in such orders.

Gave final approval of a text amendment to limit the number of apartments, based on the area of the lot, which could be located in a building in an R-4 (rowhouse zone).

Granted, a map amendment from R-5-A (low density apartment zone) to C-1 (neighborhood shopping zone) at Barnaby Terrace and Wheeler Road SE.

Granted with conditions preliminary approval of an application filed by Georgetown University for a planned unit development for property located at 5th, 6th and E streets NW and a map amendment from SP (residential/limited office zone) to C-3-B (high bulk major business and employment center zone).

Denied a map amendment from SP (residential/limited office zone) to C-3-B (high bulk major business and employment center zone) at 2nd, 6th, D and K streets NW (Judiciary Square).

Set for further hearing on April 12, the Pennsylvania Avenue Plan-Text Amendment.
