Following are recent actions taken by the Board of Zoning Adjustment.

Granted, subject to applicant setting deck back eight feet from the west lot line, the application of Paul S. and Susan Au Allen for variances from the percentage of lot occupancy and rear yard requirements to permit a rear deck at 2009 Q St. NW.

Granted the application of the National Mortgage Company for a special exception to permit a new residential development of 30 units and for a variance from the open court requirements at 1600-1632 and 1700-1724 Gainesville St. SE.

Denied the application of the SCI Corporation for a special exception to construct a new office building and for a special exception to reduce the required parking or in the alternative, a variance from the requirement that all parking spaces be accessible to permit stacked parking at 1724 Massachusetts Ave. NW.

Denied the application of the Amalgamated Management Corporation for a special exception to establish a parking lot at 213-215 E ST. NE.

Granted for a maximum of 40 students the application of the Ambassador Baptist Church for a special exception to permit the construction of a day care center and church and for variances from the play area and parking requirements at 1412 Minnesota Ave. SE.

Granted the application of William Adair for variances from the prohibition against adding to a non-conforming structure which presently exceeds the percentage of lot occupancy and from the open court requirements to permit a second-floor rear addition at 1331 E. Capitol St. SE.

Granted for one year the application of George Washington University, as amended, for a special exception to continue the use of a parking lot under the university campus plan at 2006, 2010-2016-2018 and 2024-2026 G St. and 2007-2026 F St. NW.

Granted for one year the application of George Washington University for a special exception to continue use of a parking lot as a college or university use at 733-739 24th St. NW.

Denied the application of George Washington University for a special exception to establish a parking lot as a college or university use at 2140, 2142 and 2146 Eye St. NW.

Granted two years the application of Eugene L. Bernard, trustee for a special exception to continue use of a parking lot for five years at 2140-2142-2144 St. NW.

Granted the application of Georgetown Associates Limited Partnership and Georgetown Development Limited Partnership for a variance from the prohibition against parking within 10 feet of the wall of a multiple dwelling which has openings for light and ventilation to permit a five-story addition to an existing apartment house at 1024 Wisconsin Ave. NW.

Granted in accordance with revised site plan the application of Grasslands Inc. and LAR Associates for a special exception to permit a new residential development, for a special exception to allow parking in front of a proposed apartment building and for a variance from the use provisions to allow a gate house and driveways to serve the development, all to allow the construction of one high rise apartment building, 12 apartment buildings each having one side yard and one common wall and 38 apartment buildings each having no side yards and two common walls at 3201-3299 Sutton Pl. and 3101 New Mexico Ave. NW.

Granted for three years the application of Gertrude A. Levy, et al, for a special exception to continue the use of a parking lot at 3053 M St. NW.

Set for further hearing on specific issues the application of Eleanor D. Ditzen, et al, for a special exception to permit a private school (the Washington International School) and for a special exception to reduce the required parking by less than 25 percent, and for a variance from the driveway width requirement at 3100 Macomb and/or 3029 Klingle St. NW (the Tregaron Estate).

Granted the application of Alice M. Ricci for variances from the lot occupancy and rear yard requirements to permit a rear addition to a row dwelling which is a non-conforming structure at 250 10th St. NE.

Denied the application of Robert J. Flynn for variances from the rear yard and side yard requirements to permit an addition at 3405 Carpenter St. SE.

Deferred the application of Elizabeth Curry Williams for a variance from the use provisions to permit professional offices at 2016 Connecticut Ave. NW.

Denied the application of Grant and Pauli McClanahan for a variance from the use provisions to permit a flat at 2233 Q st. NW.

Granted for one year the application of Colonial Parking Inc. for a special exception to continue the use of a parking lot at 1914-1918 N St. NW.

Granted in accordance with conditions submitted by applicant the application of Carl H. Richmond, Jr. for a special exception to change a non-conforming use from offices of a computer service company to a private school and for a variance from the parking requirements at 2461 Wisconsin Ave. NW.

Approved modifications in the applicant's motion to modify plans approved by the board in the application of the D.C. Society for Crippled Children, Inc. for a special exception to establish an accessory parking lot at 1319 and 1321 Girard St. NW.

Denied the applicant's motion for reconsideration/rehearing as to that part of BZA order dated Feb. 23, 1978 denying an extension of a non-conforming use to the second floor at 304 and 306 Independence Ave. SE in the application of Michael D. Lange for a special exception to extend a non-conforming office use from the first to the second floor at 304 Independence Ave. SE and a special exception to change a non-conforming use from a beauty salon to an office and extend that office use to the second floor at 306 Independence Ave. SE or in the alternative a variance from the use provisions to permit an office on the second floor at 306 Indpendence Ave. SE.

No action on the applican't request for the board's approval of modification of condition "c" of the board's order dated July 13, 1977, in the application of Lester Kraft for permission to establish an institution of higher learning (University of Southern California School of Education) and for a reduction in the required parking at 17632 R St. NW.
