Suddenly, on Thursday, April 20, 1978, HEDA MANETTE KOCK, widow of Dr. Ludo Rivalier von Meysenbug, at her residence. Member of a prominent Louisiana family, born at Belle Alliance Plantation, near Napoleonville, Assumption Parish, Louisiana, August 28, 1897, and a resident of Washington, D.C. since 1951. Beloved mother of Carl Rivalier von Meysenbug, the Reverend James Rivalier von Meysenbug, and Mrs. Philip van Deventer Jr.; also survived by six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her brother, Charles E. Kock, Boca Grande, Fla.; her sister, Mother Alice M. Kock, R.S.C.J., Convent of the Sacred Heart, Grand Coteau, La.; her sister-in-law, Mrs. E. James Kock, New Orleans, and many other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
She was a courageous and devoted mere de famille, and a dear friend to the many who shared in the generous warmth of her kindly spirit. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
Arrangements were private. A memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at St. Ann's Church, Monday April 24, notice of time to be given. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association, or to Birthright.
