LT. COL. JOHN ROSS MORGAN JR., 48, USAF (retired), a resident of Albuquerque for the past six years, died recently. He was the son of the late Col. John Ross Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Barbara Nylund Morgan of Albuquerque; his brother, Lt. Col. Donald Morgan of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Jean Morgan Spencer of Waco, Tex., Alma Rowan of Neosho, Mo., and his mother, Mrs. John Ross Morgan Sr. Lt. Col. Morgan was a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1952, did graduate work in nuclear physics at North Carolina State University, received a B.A. in Psychology at the University of New Mexico. He was a member of the Sigma, physics honor society, and was an officer in Delta Theta Phi, national law fraternity. Services will be held Friday, May 5, 1978, at 1 p.m. at West Side Chapel No. One, Kirtland Air FOrce Base, with Pastor Dale L. Knudsen officiating. Pallbearers will be Larry D. Beall, Terence A. Fairchild, Daniel L. Thompson, Spencer Reed, Sigrid Olson and Col. Douglas G. Ludlam. Internment will follow in the National Cemetry, Santa Fe, with full military honors performed by the Kirtland Air Force Base Honor Guard. The family requests memorials to the John R. Morgan Jr. Scholarship Fund at University of New Mexico Law School, c/o Dean Hart. The French Mortuary, 1111 University ne., is in charge of arrangements.
