Lower Potomac and Chesapeake Bay - Partly cloudy with visibility increasing to 5 miles or better following morning fog. Winds will be northeasterly at 8 to 12 knots. Waves will average less than 1 foot.

West Virginia: Today - Mostly sunny highs from the mid 70s to low 80s, lows in the 50s. Friday - sunny and warmer, highs from the upper 70s to upper 80s.

The National Weather Forecast for today - Widely scattered showers and some thunderstorms willextend from Texas across the south and central Great Plains and the mid and upper Mississippi Valley. Scattered showers will stretch from the Pacific Northwest across MOntana into the northern portions of Utah and Nevada. Sunny skies will prevail over the southern Rockies and the southern Intermountain Region with fair or partly cloudy skies across the remaining parts of the nation. It will be mild over the Great Plain and warmer from the upper Ohio Valley through northern Maine. The rest of the country, east of the Rockies, will be seasonably warm. From the Rockies to the West Coast temperatures will remain cool.

When the index exceeds 100 the air is considered very unhealthy and individuals with lung, heart and eye ailments are urged to restrict their activity. The forcast for today indicates that the air quality will remain about the same.
