Age 73, 1345 Haines ave., Grandview, Ohio, died Monday evening at St. Lukes Convalescent center, retired in 1973 after 40 yrs. of service from the Department of State from the U.S. Government, he was a graduate of The Franklin, University Law School and received his Doctorate of Law Degree from Capital University. He began his Federal Government Service in January 1934 until August 1943, he served as Assistant Director and Director of Personnel and Deputy Administrator of Four Federal Agencies in Ohio. August 1943, he served with the office of War Information in Washington, D.C. In 1945 he chose the Department and the Division of Foreign service Administration and served overseas on special administration assignments in September 1947, he was recalled from overseas duty to become assistant chief division of foreign service administration and later as chief of the foreign facility branch. In 1949 he was assigned central services and there follows several overseas tours. On returning he trained and counciled administrative in general services personnel for overseas assignments. He remained in the State Department until his retirement. He is survived by his wife Lois, daughter and son-in-law Marjory Lou and Ralph Waggoner, Columbus, grandson and wife Terry S. and Maleetam Christian, Bettendorf lo., a granddaughter Cynthia S. Christman, of Columbus, one great-granddaughter, sisters Lillian Palmer, and Mrs. Mildred Kysor, Chillicothe Oh., several nieces and nephews.
