Ride-On, the neighborhood minibus service operated by Montgomery County, will make a number of minor schedule adjustments effective Sunday so that the Ride-On system will mesh more effectively with expanded Metro subway service.

New midday and Saturday service is scheduled in downtown Silver Spring, and a new route, Route 22, will be added. Buses will start running either 20 or 30 minutes earlier on Ride-On Routes 1,2,3,4,5,6,10,13,14,16 and 17.

Patrons needing more information about Ride-On should call the Montgomery County Transit Information Center at 468-4100. Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Ride-On route changes:

Route 1 - The Ross Road-Spencer Road loop trips will be operated week-days to the Silver Spring Metro station before 9:15 a.m. and from the Silver Spring Metro station after 4:15 p.m.

Route 4 - Service will be expanded so buses operate weekdays every 30 minutes.

Route 7 - Buses will operate from 6:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. southbound and from 3:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. northbound.

Route 11 - Service will be expanded so buses operate midday every 20 minutes.

Route 14 - New Sunday service will be provided, with trips every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 17 - Weekday trips to or from the Silver Spring Metro station between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. will operate via 16th Street, Spring Street and Second Avenue instead of via Colesville Road.

Route 22 - This new route will serve the Silver Spring Metro station from Paddington Square via Lyttonsville Road, Spencer Road, Peggy Lane, Ross Road, Grubb Road, Washington Avenue, East-West Highway, Broadmoor Apartments, Spring Street and Colesville Road. Buses will operate weekdays and Saturdays every 30 minutes between 9:30 and 4 p.m.
